Introduction

WarMod

WarMod is a completely free SourceMod plugin created by Twelve-60 of GotGames for the popular Half-Life 2 mod, Counter-Strike:Source. It is specifically designed to be used for competitive matches, and provides the flexibiliy to suit any form of competition, including large tournaments down to clan matches. It is written in the SourcePawn language which is built to be small and fast, enabling it to use minimal CPU usage.

Note: All of the following features can be enabled/modified or disabled

  • Ready System - Used for players to set themselves as ready or not ready for the match to begin
  • Automatic Live On 3 - Once all players are ready, the match will lo3 automatically.
  • Admin Menu - A complete admin menu for managing the servers and controlling WarMod.
  • Score Display - At the end of each match round, the score is displayed for all players including SourceTV
  • Automatic Swap - At half time, players are automatically swapped to the opposite team, and are blocked from doing so prematurely.
  • Automatic SourceTV Recording - SourceTV demos are automatically recorded for each game, and named according to the current date/time/map and team names.
  • Statistics - WarMod logs are recorded on all matches which can be used to create extremely comprehensive statistics either for a live or post-live match.
  • Rconless - Admins can be configured to be recognised by their SteamID rather then an rcon password, preventing a password leak, and also allowing permission restrictions per admin.
  • Clutter Removal - Optional removal of all dynamic objects, such as barrels, trash, carts etc.
  • Defuse Bug Fix - Fixes the defuse bug glitch causing players to be unable to defuse the bomb due to another defuse kit laying on top of the bomb.
  • Money Display - At the start of each round, WarMod will display your team's money in team chat, making it much easier to coordinate your team.
  • Ragdoll Removal - Supports the removal of players ragdolls after a set period of time, ensuring that ragdolls never obscure any lines of fire.
  • Overtime Support - WarMod supports both unlimited maxrounds and sudden death overtime.
  • Playout Support - Also supports the match playing out the rest of the rounds even though a team has already won.
  • Console Damage - Supports the delaying of the console display of damage given and taken until the end of the round to avoid ghosting.
  • MySQL Support - WarMod can be configured to automatically upload all match results into a mysql database, making it extremely simple to display results on a webpage.
  • Multilingual Support - Currently supporting German, Russian, French and of course English.
  • Forwards - Appropriate SourceMod forwards can be used for developers to interact with WarMod
  • Fire in the Hole - Supports the removal of "Fire in the Hole" sounds, making it easier to hear incoming enemies.
  • Help Hints - Supports the removal of help hints down the bottom of the screen, such as advising a player that they are currently in a bomb planting location.

History

WarMod was started as a small personal project in August 2007, designed to incorporate a ready system which would be used for GotGames in their competition matches. As time progressed features were added and bugs were eliminated, and a beta was released later that month. Since then it has slowly developed into a very stable plugin, used on hundreds of clan and competition servers.

WarMod is currently being used in the Australian GotGames CEVO CS:S competitions and GotGames is determined to make WarMod widely known and to become the standard of CS:S competition.
